Weddings
Weddings are a huge part of the events at which I play and I quite enjoy!
Some of the key times when the bagpipes are best used for weddings:
- as guests enter the ceremony
- piping the bride down the aisle
- piping the married couple up the aisle after the marriage ceremony is completed
- signing of the registry
- if the ceremony and reception are at the same location, during a cocktail or intermission
- piping the newlyweds into a reception
- I am happy to adapt to what the couple needs or wants as well
What to expect before the wedding:
- When contacting me, giving as many details as possible (location, date, any other musicians, time plan, other plans for the ceremonies)
- We discuss and set up a general plan, especially if you have any tune requests and when to play
- If you do not, I am very happy to give guidance as to appropriate tunes and when to play. One of my favourites is Mairi's Wedding, which is a very upbeat and a lot of fun to play (please visit the Sample Music for a recording)
What to expect at the wedding:
- I generally am at the venue one hour before any starting time
- If there are any last-minute changes, as I am there and am generally quite flexible
- Often I am asked to be a part of pictures, which I am happy to do

For other events, I recommend getting in contact to set up a video or voice call to walk through what is required as well as what I can suggest.
